Chapter 7
In chapter 7, it goes on to talk about the evolution of wireless networks. A wireless connection occurs when data, such as a file or a person’s voice, is transferred to another location without the need for a cable connection. When you connect a device such as a computer to an internet service provider using a phone line, cable modem, or DSL modem, you are creating a wired connection because the device and the ISP are connected by a cable. This way is very convenient because if you are somewhere that loses power, you will have a backup so that your work won't be lost. Personal Area Networking I think is dangerous because someone can link their phone to yours and retrieve all your information including your personal information. Wireless Wide Area Networking is devices connecting to a wireless LAN through Wi-Fi or to a wireless mesh network that must be within the stated boundary of the wireless LAN. It goes on more to talk about the internet of things which I think can help if you are stranded and need service.
